Dry, Mild Weather Continues

| November 26, 2015 @ 3:51 pm

**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video today… we are on a holiday schedule through Sunday with one video per day**

DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER: What a delightful Thanksgiving afternoon… a sunny with with temperatures up in the low 70s, about 10 degrees above average for November 26.

Temperatures

FYI… Birmingham’s record high for the date is 80, set in 1973.

TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY: Not much change; afternoons will remain unseasonably mild with highs around 70 degrees. Each day will feature a mix of sun and clouds, and we expect no rain through Saturday. A few showers could creep into far Northwest Alabama Sunday afternoon, but the rest of the state will remain dry.

TO THE WEST: A messy weather situation sets up with heavy rain, ice, and snow all in the mix…

A very significant ice storm is likely for parts of the Texas Panhandle and South Plains, up into West Oklahoma and South Kansas. Travelers beware.

NEXT WEEK: The latest run of the GFS shows a chance of showers across North Alabama Monday and Tuesday, but nothing too heavy, and no risk of severe weather. Then, cooler and drier moves into the state Wednesday with highs dropping back into the 50s.

IRON BOWL: The weather could not be better for the biggest football game in the state Saturday in Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium; we project 70 degrees at 2:30 when the game kicks off with a partly sunny sky; temperatures fall into the upper 50s by the final whistle.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
