Tornado Warning Continues for Fayette County Only; Another Tornadic Storm Upstream

| February 2, 2016 @ 5:38 pm

The tornado near Reform has apparently lifted. The rotational couplet has disappeared and the normalized rotation value has decreased dramatically.  But the storm has a history of cycling.  There is strong indications of a tornado again.

If you are in the city of Fayette, be in safe shelter.

Tornado warning remains in effect for Fayette County. The other counties have been canceled.

Another tornado warning is in effect for Noxubee County MS. Rotational couplet is near Shuqualak. This tornado could get into Pickens/Lamar Counties within the hour.

The instability over western Alabama is already subsiding, which could be a good sign.

The bad news is that there are lots of reports of injuries in Pickens County.
