Got my weather radio at Publix in Tuscaloosa today. The manager commented to me, ” Those things are seeling like crazy, is something going on?” I asked if he had been watching the news lately. No was the answer.

Dumas is in SE Arkansas, not NE. My mom and brother live there. He just called me with the following report.

I have a ground report out of Dumas,Arkansas from my brother just now. He says it is very bad. The tornado went right between our mother and his wife’s mother, missing each by just a couple of hundred yards or so. The Dollar General report is incorrect…they meant Freds, which used to be Wal-Mart. The Mad Butcher grocery and McDonalds in that parking lot were hit. It then moved NE and destroyed several businesses including Scott Tractor Company….the Case-International dealership where he works. They were in the process of combining it with the McGehee store and had just cleaned it out a week ago. He’s parts manager at both those stores and took off work at noon today…..The good news is that all my family is safe, but damage is devastating and there almost has to be fatalities. On the positive side, had it hit at noon when the lunch crowd was out, there would have been many fatalities. I just left there Tuesday morning and returned home Thursday night from a two week vacation.
