Here are some recent severe weather reports from the west of Alabama…

Bastrop [Morehouse Co, LA] emergency mngr reports TSTM WND DMG at 05:15 PM CST — trees and power lines down in and around Bastrop.

Dermott [Chicot Co, AR] law enforcement reports HAIL of tennis ball size (E2.50 INCH) at 04:56 PM CST — tennis ball hail reported in Dermott

6 W Pioneer [West Carroll Co, LA] public reports TSTM WND DMG at 05:57 PM CST — roof damage reported. possible tornado.

Shaw [Bolivar Co, MS] emergency mngr reports HAIL of nickel size (E0.88 INCH) at 05:56 PM CST — nickel hail reported in Shaw and just west of Cleveland.

Rayville [Richland Co, LA] trained spotter reports TSTM WND GST of M70.00 MPH at 06:00 PM CST — 70 mph wind gust reported by storm spotter using a hand held anemometer in Rayville.

6 W Pioneer [West Carroll Co, LA] public reports TSTM WND DMG at 05:57 PM CST — roof damage reported. possible tornado.

Tornado warnings remain in effect for the following counties to our west…

Leflore MS until 715 pm… this activity is approaching Greenwood…
Issaquena, Sharkey, Washington MS until 7:00 p.m…this storm contains a mesocyclone…East Carroll Parish LA until 6:45 p.m.

A PDS Tornado Watch is in effect for much of Mississippi.

Watches will likely be required for Alabama in a couple of hours.

The main line shoud reach western Alabama around 9 or 10 p.m. and the Birmingham area around 11:30 p.m.
