RADAR CHECK: Showers continue to rotate through the northern half of Alabama this afternoon as an upper trough moves through. Otherwise it is mostly, breezy, and cool with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Showers will end this evening, and the sky becomes mostly clear tonight.
It remains a mostly cloudy day with some lingering showers over the northern half of the state. It is cooler and breezy with temperatures struggling to climb out of the 60s.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers are over the northern 2/3 of Alabama early this morning ahead of an upper trough. Today will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and cool with showers possible.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Trees could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain covers Alabama this afternoon, a few strong to severe storms are moving through the southeast corner of state and the Florida Panhandle. The risk of severe storms will end soon for far Southeast Alabama, and rain tapers off this evening elsewhere.
These strong winds will push across Central Alabama behind the main rain area this afternoon and evening. Winds will gust to 40-50 mph. Trees will be knocked down and power will be interrupted in some areas.
As expected, severe weather is occurring over Northwest Florida and extreme South Alabama this afternoon. Just rain and some embedded thunder for North and Central Alabama. Winds will continue to gust to 30 mph at times across Central Alabama. Flash flood watches remain in effect for the southwestern two thirds of Alabama.
Rain and storms are on their way to Alabama, and it is going to be a wet, windy, and stormy Wednesday afternoon and evening across Alabama.
SEVERE STORM POTENTIAL: Rain becomes more widespread across Alabama this afternoon and tonight, along with the potential for strong thunderstorms. We believe the main risk of severe storms will be across far South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, along and south of a line from Grove Hill to Evergreen to Headland.
Storms moving out of Central Mississippi should weaken before moving into West Alabama after midnight. We’re watching the carefully to make sure. There is a threat of severe thunderstorms, and flooding rains. Winds will be strong even outside storms tomorrow.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is fairly widespread over Alabama this afternoon with temperatures ranging from the 50s over the northern third of the state to the 70s across the southern counties. Periods of rain remain possible tonight along with some thunder.
For today, we are seeing clouds with areas of rain and storms. The main area of rain and storms will remain over the northern half of the state, with more scattered activity across southern counties of the state.Temperatures are cooler today with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
