The day will be dry with a partly sunny sky, but clouds will increase late in the day. Rain will move into West Alabama in the 8-9 p.m. time frame, then spreading eastward through the night.

Flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Clay, Randolph, and Chambers counties where radar suggests some places have seen over 7 inches of rain over the past 36 hours. A flash flood watch remains in effect for the central counties of the state as well.

SPC maintains a “slight risk” (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms for the southern quarter of Alabama today, south of a line from Grove Hill to Greenville to Troy. A “marginal risk” (level 1/5) extends as far north as Sweetwater, Prattville, and Opelika.
