The storms in eastern Mississippi and Alabama have weakened quite a bit. We will be watching in case other storms form and move our way.
It is well north of Northport, the City of Tuscaloosa, and the University of Alabama campus.
RADAR CHECK: We have a mix of sun and clouds across Alabama this afternoon with a few widely scattered thunderstorms in progress… Temperatures are generally in the mid to upper 80s.
The activity is not severe, but strong enough to warrant a significant weather alert in southern Fayette, NE Lamar, and extreme Northwest Tuscaloosa counties.
The storms are not severe at this time, but could grow.

Late this morning, we are watching a cluster of showers ands storms over northern portions of Alabama. These aren’t moving much, but we are likely to see additional showers and storms develop across the Alabama landscape through the afternoon hours.
Severe weather is possible across the northern half of Alabama today, with additional chances tomorrow and Sunday.
SUMMER-LIKE PATTERN: We note a few sprinkles across Alabama early this morning, but most of the state is dry with temperatures in the 70s. The high today will be close to 90 degrees with mix of sun and clouds; we will maintain the chance of a few scattered showers and thunderstorms through early tonight.
In the southwestern Atlantic, a trough of low pressure is currently causing a widespread area of disorganized cloudiness and showers.
