RADAR CHECK: Showers continue across much of Alabama this afternoon ahead of a cold front near the northwest corner of the state. Showers will end from west to east early tonight as dry air begins to push into the state.
A cold front is pushing through the state today, and we continue to see widespread showers with embedded storms across the Alabama landscape as we roll into and through the afternoon hours, but again, no threat of severe storms.
Eta could be near hurricane strength tonight as it approaches the west coast of Florida, with rapid weakening expected after landfall on Thursday.
WET AT TIMES: An approaching cold front will bring occasional showers to Alabama today. There could be a rumble of thunder in spots, but no severe storms are expected, and rain amounts should be under 1/2 inch for most places. Otherwise, today will be cloudy with a high in the 70s.
