Years back, I attended a baking retreat hosted by Martha White with my buddy Brandie from The Country Cook. While there, we were tasked with creating a recipe using Martha White’s sweet potato muffin mix.
SUNNY BUT COLD: Temperatures are only in the low to mid 40s over the northern third of Alabama this afternoon despite a sunny sky; the average high for December 7 at Birmingham is 58. Tonight will be clear and cold with winds diminishing; most places will see a low between 27 and 32 early tomorrow.
An Auburn University research team has made the first discovery of metal nanoparticles occurring naturally in an animal body, specifically zinc nanoparticles in nose cells, which has implications in possibly restoring or enhancing an animal’s or person’s sense of smell.

BREEZY/COLDER: Lingering clouds this morning will give way to a sunny sky across Alabama today, but the day will be breezy and colder. Highs will be only in the 40s over the northern half of the state, with 50s to the south. A northwest wind of 12-22 mph will make it feel colder. Those winds will die down tonight, and with a clear sky we expect a low between 27 and 32 degrees early tomorrow.
