Dr. Marie-Camille Elie, just named as head of UAB’s Emergency Medicine Department, is triple certified in emergency medicine and critical care, as well as hospice and palliative care medicine. Elie is the first Black woman to be named a permanent chair of an emergency medicine department at a major U.S. medical school.
