The annual Innovate Huntsville event kicked off on Monday as a spotlight on the city’s innovation-focused economy, the region’s entrepreneurial resources and north Alabama’s technology and start-up ecosystem.
ANOTHER PREVIEW OF SPRING: Temperatures have soared into the 70s across Alabama again this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky. Clouds will return tonight ahead of a cold front, with some rain moving into the northern half of the state after midnight.

Being ready for severe weather doesn’t have to be expensive, but every little savings helps. This year, 265 municipalities across Alabama will be participating in a sales tax holiday for specific preparedness items.
A weak boundary pushed south through the state overnight, allowing for a few more clouds and showers this morning, but these have since dissipated. For the rest of today, we are seeing a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to lower 70s. Another pretty decent day of weather for Alabama.
We are no strangers to lightning in Central Alabama, especially during the summer months with the daily pop-up thunderstorms we usually get. June, July, and August are the peak months for lightning in our area, but as you know, thunderstorms happen throughout the year.

RADAR CHECK: We noticed a few sprinkles on radar early this morning, but most of those have dissipated just before daybreak, and most of Alabama will enjoy another dry, very mild day today. With a mix of sun and clouds, we are looking for a high in the 68-73 degree range this afternoon. Clouds will increase again tonight, and rain is likely over the northern half of the state after midnight, and into the day tomorrow with a cold front drifting into the state.
