At 1145 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

A new Tornado Watch has been issued until 6 am Wednesday morning for the following counties in Central Alabama: Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Clay, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Talladega, Tallapoosa counties, and includes Autauga, Chilton, Dallas, Lowndes, and Perry counties from the previous watch.

NWS Birmingham continues the Tornado Watch until 11 pm for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Shelby, and St. Clair counties in Central Alabama. Hale and Tuscaloosa counties have been canceled from the watch as the severe weather threat has ended for tonight.
