Alabama NewsCenter — A Birmingham, Alabama gift guide
From the Gulf waters to the Iron City, we’ve put together some of our favorite shop-local guides to help your search for the perfect gift go a little smoother this holiday season.
WARM DECEMBER WEATHER: The temperature has reached 80 degrees at Mobile and Evergreen at mid-afternoon…. elsewhere temperatures are mostly in the 70s with a mostly cloudy sky. We should note the average high for Birmingham on December 6 is 59. The sky is mostly cloudy across the state, but we are seeing only widely scattered showers over the northern counties.
With an upper ridge over the Gulf of Mexico, our weather will continue to feature unseasonably warm temperatures and the risk of scattered showers on a daily basis, nothing especially heavy or widespread.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few scattered showers over the northern half of Alabama this morning; nothing especially heavy or widespread. We will mention the chance of showers over North/Central Alabama today and early tonight… then just a small risk of a shower tomorrow and Thursday as an upper ridge builds over the region.
ON THE MAPS: We have a well defined warm front moving northward through Central Alabama this afternoon, creating a huge range of weather conditions across the state. South of the front, temperatures are in the 70s with some sun peeking through the clouds. But, north of the front, rain is falling over North Alabama with temperatures in the 47-55 degree range.
