Storms Growing over Northern Mississippi

| March 9, 2017 @ 11:17 pm

Showers have grown into storms over northern Mississippi in a pattern of warm air advection and underneath an increasing upper level wind field.

A new severe thunderstorm warning was just issued for Union, Prentiss, Lee and Pontotoc Counties.

These storms are already moving into Franklin and Marion Counties, as well as Colbert and Lauderdale Counties.

Meanwhile, our line of strong to severe storms is dropping southeastward. A tornado warning is in effect for areas south of Nashville. Numerous severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect along the line.

A new severe thunderstorm watch may be coming shortly for parts of North and Central Alabama.
