GOES-16 Imagery of Tropical Storm Cindy

| June 21, 2017 @ 11:12 am

This is the latest GOES-16 visible satellite animation of Tropical Storm Cindy. As you can see a little bit of convection is just at the beginning phase of forming to the south of the circulation. This image has a higher temporal resolution and is able to grab images at 30-second intervals. Just an incredible advancement in weather technology.

GOES-16 has not been declared operational and its data are preliminary and undergoing testing. The satellite is expected to go operational later this year in November.
