The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Southeastern Jefferson County in Alabama…

* Until 645 PM CDT

* At 342 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook,
Irondale, Tarrant, Cahaba Heights, Kingston, Birmingham Airport,
The Summit, Lake Purdy, Ruffner Mountain, Danville and Liberty
Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
