Midday In Central Alabama On Thanksgiving… About To Go Into A “Turkey Coma”

| November 23, 2017 @ 1:05 pm

That’s right folks… The tryptophan from all of the turkey that I have consumed for Thanksgiving lunch is starting to kick in, and I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open while trying to type my midday nowcast. Good news is that there is not much to report on out there across Central Alabama at this time, with nearly the entire area bathed in complete sunshine. Just a few high clouds are dotting the skies in the eastern parts of the area near the Georgia state line. Temperatures at this time are in the lower 50s to the upper 60s across the area from north to south. We are currently at 57º in Birmingham, while the warm spot is Eufaula at 68º. Still rather cool across the northern parts of the area, as Cullman is the cool spot at 53º.

It will be much of the same throughout the rest of the daytime hours, with highs reaching the upper 50s to the upper 60s throughout the area. If you are getting ready to go out shopping this evening, temperatures will be in the mid-40s to the mid-50s throughout Central Alabama around 6:00 PM and will be dropping into the upper 30s to the mid-40s by midnight. There will be plenty of stars seen in the skies, and the waxing crescent moon shall be easily seen with clear skies tonight.

Black Friday will be a near-repeat of today’s weather… Maximum sunshine with cool temperatures throughout the area. Temperatures will start off in the lower 30s to the lower 40s at dawn and warming into the 60s throughout Central Alabama for the daytime highs. Skies will remain clear throughout the remainder of Friday through the late night hours, and temperatures will be in the upper 30s to the lower 40s by midnight.
