Sky Gradually Clearing

| December 2, 2017 @ 12:30 pm

It has been quite the cloudy and gray Saturday morning across much of Alabama, but this afternoon we are gradually seeing the clouds and fog mix out and sunshine is starting to shine in many locations.

The sun is allowing for temperatures to warm into the mid and upper 60s across North/Central Alabama, with some 70s across southeastern portions of the state. Where the clouds are slow to go, temperatures are in the 50s.

TONIGHT: The night should start off mainly clear, but we are likely to see dense fog develop once again in many locations through the overnight hours, and also a dense fog advisory will likely been needed for portions of the area. Temperatures overnight should be in the lower and mid 40s.

SUNDAY: Prepare for a foggy start to the day, but we should see a bit more sun tomorrow which will allow for another nice warm up and we should see a lot of locations flirt with 70° tomorrow.

WATCH OUT FOR THE SUPERMOON: This weekend’s full Moon is the biggest and brightest full Moon of 2017, almost 8% wider and 16% brighter than average. The extra dose of luminosity, which peaks on Sunday night, Dec. 3rd, is going to cast unusually sharp midnight shadows as this “supermoon” lights up the wintry landscape of the northern hemisphere.
