In this role, he oversees policy for the wide variety of services that touch the public and NWS partners. He also serves as national lead for the NWS Hazards Simplification project which, with support from the social science community, has a goal of maximizing comprehension of and effective response to NWS hazard messages. He also supports NWS Weather Ready Nation initiative via direct interactions with external partners and serves as an Expert Team Lead for Impact-based Weather Services for the United Nation’s World Meteorological Organization.
