A Cool, But Beautiful Sunday Across Central Alabama

| December 10, 2017 @ 2:35 pm

It’s a beautiful day across Alabama with crisp and cool conditions that feel a little crisper with a breeze blowing across occasional patches of unmelted snow.

Temperatures are in the middle and upper 40s. A few spots in East Alabama where there is a little more snow, temperatures are in the lower 40s.

That reading at Jasper is incorrect, as it usually is.

Skies are mostly clear across the area, although there are a few clouds associated with a little slug of moisture and vorticity swinging Clay, Randolph and southern Cleburne Counties.

Additional waves in the middle levels of the atmosphere will be sliding southeastward through the trough over the coming week. Each wave will carve out the larger trough and bring reinforcing shots of cold, dry air our way. Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the previous 6 and the warmest of the next 7 days. Monday highs will be near 60F.

Highs the rest of the week will be:

48F Tuesday
51F Wednesday
56F Thursday
51F Friday
56F Saturday
65F Sunday

Morning lows will include:

28F Monday
36F Tuesday
27F Wednesday
32F Thursday
33F Friday
36F Saturday

Next rain chance: next Sunday over South Alabama. It may be Wednesday the 20th before Central Alabama sees real rain.
