Donna Reed Is Back… Another Day With Record Warmth In Central Alabama

| February 22, 2018 @ 5:37 pm

I had a feeling when I was typing out my midday report that a few more records would fall today… and it happened! So, Donna Reed is back to break that record again. Here’s the list for today…

Record High Set at Birmingham
Today’s high temperature of 81 degrees at Birmingham ties the old record set back in 1897.

Record High Set at Tuscaloosa
Today’s high temperature of 83 degrees at Tuscaloosa breaks the old record of 80 degrees set back in 1980.

Record High Set at Anniston
Today’s high temperature of 82 degrees at Anniston breaks the old record of 75 degrees set back in 1980.

Record High Set at Montgomery
Today’s high temperature of 84 degrees at Montgomery breaks the old record of 80 degrees set back in 1897.

As of this post, Huntsville broke their record high today as well, but the official work has not been released across NWS Chat at the moment. Today’s high at Huntsville was 77 degrees, breaking the old record of 76 degrees set back in 1980.

It will be a close call for record highs on Friday, but I believe Birmingham will be a couple degrees short. The old record high is 83 degrees set back in 1996, and Friday’s high is forecast to be around 80 degrees. We’ll see what happens.
