At 914 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall across portions of Jackson and DeKalb counties. Radar estimates indicate that around two inches of rain has fallen along and north of Highway 72. An additional inch of rainfall is likely this evening. Jackson County Emergency Management reports several roads across the county covered with water and some either partially impassable or barricaded. Some locations that will experience flooding include… Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Rainsville, Bridgeport, South Pittsburg, Henagar, Stevenson, Sylvania, Hollywood and Powell.

    Central DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 1145 PM CST

* At 743 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated a large area of moderate to heavy rain that will cause flooding across eastern Jackson and northern DeKalb counties. Radar estimated indicate that one to perhaps one and a half inches has fallen in this area so far. An additional one to two inches will produce rise on area creeks and streams and likely produce flooding in low lying areas.
