Alabama Power Hosts Education Event At Honda Indy Grand Prix Of Alabama

Students from across the region will head to Barber Motorsports Park for the seventh annual Alabama Power education event, in advance of this weekend’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
The education event on Thursday, April 19, will include representatives from Alabama Power’s Electric Transportation group and Verizon IndyCar Series. Alabama Power experts will discuss electric transportation and how math and science connect to automotive careers.
The Alabama Power education event will provide students with a broader understanding of electric vehicles that produce no emissions and can help reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil. Alabama Power continues to be a leader in promoting greener electric transportation and educating customers about the growing number of plug-in electric vehicles on the market.Charlie Kimball, Verizon IndyCar Series driver of Carlin Motorsport and Ricky Davis, chief mechanic for Chip Ganassi Racing will be the special guests at Thursday’s event. Both will discuss how education has played a role in their career paths.
