Watch Out Birmingham: Storms Developing Rapidly; Will Produce Flooding

| May 16, 2018 @ 6:13 pm

Storms are exploding over the Birmingham area and flooding will be a problem.

Heavy rain is already falling from downtown through Homewood and in areas along and west of I-65 in and west of Hoover.

The NWS has issued a Flood Advisory for southeastern Jefferson County.

The storms are intensifying rapidly and will produce widespread heavy rain. The composite quadrant of the image shows the precip that is suspended aloft, so the storm is fully loaded and ready to dump tremendous rain and produce gusty winds.

Watch out for lightning and potentially damaging wind gusts as well.
