Dense Fog Advisory Issued For Northeast Alabama Until 9:00 AM

| June 14, 2018 @ 4:00 am

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9:00 AM CDT this morning for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, and St. Clair counties.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9:00 AM CDT this morning for Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties.

* VISIBILITY…Will be generally a quarter of a mile or less at times.

* IMPACTS…Areas of dense fog will reduce visibility causing hazardous driving conditions.

The combination of a very moist environment from earlier rainfall, light winds, and partial clearing of the sky has created conditions favorable for fog development. Dense fog has already developed across portions of the Advisory area, and is expected to become more widespread over the next few hours. Motorists should use extra caution on their morning commute as visibilities may drop quickly over a short distance. This fog should dissipate by mid morning.
