North Carolina Tornado

A tornado has touched down in eastern North Carolina near Fayetteville. This is being produced by the disturbance that passed through Alabama earlier today.

It apparently crossed I-95 near MM 40 around an hour ago.

…Tornado Warning for Cumberland, Harnett, Johnston, Sampson [NC] till 7:15 PM EDT …AT 625 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED 2 MILES NORTH OF GODWIN…OR 12 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LILLINGTON…MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

…Tornado Warning for Johnston, Sampson, Wayne [NC] till 7:00 PM EDT …AT 627 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A TORNADO. IN ADDITION… AT 625 PM… THE PUBLIC REPORTED A TORNADO AT BYNUM ROAD AND WILLIAMS LAKE ROAD… IN NORTHWEST SAMPSON COUNTY. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED 7 MILES SOUTH OF SPIVEY’S CORNER…OR 16 MILES NORTHWEST OF CLINTON…MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

…3/27 16:43:18 RAH: 4 Ssw Fayetteville [Cumberland Co, NC] fire dept/rescue reports TORNADO at 05:21 PM EDT — fire department reported a tornado touchdown near the puralator plant at black and decker and cumberland roads.

…3/27 16:40:08 RAH: 3 S Hope Mills [Cumberland Co, NC] law enforcement reports TORNADO at 05:13 PM EDT — law enforcement reported a roof blown off a house in cumberland county near the cumberland-robeson county line.

…3/27 16:38:31 RAH: 2 Sse Hope Mills [Cumberland Co, NC] law enforcement reports TORNADO at 05:15 PM EDT — multiple reports of shingles blown off houses in the hope mills area near nc highway 59 and i-95. law enforcement also reported a tornado touching down near highway 59 and i-95.
