A Quick Check On Our Weather At 1:40 PM

We have a fair bit of scattered shower activity over the eastern half of the area while nearly all of the western half of Central Alabama is dry at this point. Nothing too heavy, but the showers are barely moving at all. Skies are mostly clear over the locations that are rain-free, and temperatures are running in the mid-80s to the lower 90s across the area.

Throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening hours, we’ll have a chance of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across Central Alabama. Skies will be mostly clear where it’s not raining and afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s to the lower 90s. For tonight, there will be a chance of showers and storms lingering through the evening, especially in the western half of the area. Unfortunately, some high school football games may be affected by showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Temperatures will be in the lower to mid-80s at kickoff ad falling into the mid to upper 70s by the final whistle. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.
