Flash Flood Warning Continues for Much of Jefferson County Until 1:45 pm

A Flash Flood Warning continues in effect for much of Jefferson County, including to cities of Birmingham, Hoover, Hueytown, Bessemer, Pinson, Center Point, and Trussville, until 1:45 pm CT today.

The heaviest rainfall is affecting the south and southwestern parts of the county at this point, especially over Sylvan Springs, Concord, Hueytown, Bessemer, Fairfield, and up to downtown Birmingham. While the cells within the line are moving to the northeast, the main line movement is to the east.

The axis of heaviest rain will affect cities along I-20 in the near term (Bessemer, Hueytown, Fairfield) then will shift eastward toward Homewood, Vestavia Hills.

Hueytown PD is reporting that they’re starting to have road issues.

DO NOT drive across flooded roadways! Rains are not going to be lessening anytime soon.
