Other than the lack of badly needed rain, we have some very delightful weather in coming days. Dry air means sunny mild days and clear chilly nights through the weekend. We should be in the mid to upper 40s both tomorrow and Saturday morning; some upper 30s are possible by daybreak Saturday across the coldest valleys.
Afternoon highs will remain in the 70s tomorrow and Saturday, we return to the low 80s by Sunday. Humidity levels will remain low. A wonderful weekend for the Regions Charity Golf Classic at Ross Bridge.
NEXT WEEK: Monday will be warm day as afternoon temperatures rise into the mid to upper 80s, but a wedge of cooler air moving into the state from the east should knock temperatures down by Tuesday and Wednesday. And, an approaching cold front will bring the next chance of showers to Alabama by Thursday afternoon (a week from today). The 12Z run suggests the front might stall out over North Alabama, prolonging the chance of rain into Friday.
LONG TERM: No real change in the rest of the medium range period; still some hint of active tropical weather in the Gulf and the Northwest Caribbean around the first of June; of course there is no way to resolve details until we get closer. The next named storm in the Atlantic basin will be called Barry.
BEACH BOUND? I have posted the annual “Spann’s Best Way To The Bama Beaches”… it is the post below this one. If you are headed for the Alabama coast and like the roads less traveled, I strongly suggest you consider this “scenic route” through rural West and Southwest Alabama.
