A beautiful, cool fall day is in progress across North and Central Alabama at this hour. After a long hot summer and early autumn, it is nice to finally have some true fall temperatures.

We can’t find a cloud in the sky across Alabama at this hour, and none are expected to materialize as we go through the afternoon.

Temperatures at 1 p.m. are in the 50s north of I-20. Lower 60s have arrived in the US-80 corridor across South Central Alabama, with readings approaching 70F over South Alabama.

Dewpoints are in the 20s and 30s, making the air feel very crisp.

This will produce some scattered light frost for areas north of I-20. A few of the normally extreme cold locations could briefly touch freezing. Protect any tender vegetation that could be harmed by the relatively cold temperatures.
