| January 2, 2019 @ 2:48 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a flash flood watch through early Friday morning for Greene, Hale, Marengo, Pickens, and Sumter counties in West Alabama.

1-2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts are expected between now and Friday morning.

The watch officially starts at noon tomorrow.

Flash flood watches have also been posted for much of northern and Central Georgia.

A flash flood watch means that conditions will be favorable for the development of flash flooding. You should monitor conditions carefully and be ready to take action in case flooding develops.
