Winter Weather Advisory Replaces Winter Storm Warning

| January 29, 2019 @ 4:55 am

As the expected snowfall totals continue to look to be less, the National Weather Service in Birmingham has canceled the Winter Storm Warning that was in effect until 12:00 pm today.

A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for much of Central Alabama until 12:00 pm today.

From NWS Birmingham: Despite the expected transition to snow on the western edge of the area of precipitation, antecedent ground conditions seem to be overcoming snowfall rates and limiting surface accumulations. Still, anticipate snowfall to carry possible impacts throughout the early morning hours but have reduced forecast accumulations below criteria for a Winter Storm Warning.
