Strong Storms Moving Into Jefferson County

The line of storms is now slowly pushing into the western parts of Jefferson County, with the southwestern parts of the county about to experience very heavy rainfall, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and winds in excess of 40 MPH.

Locations in the path of this storm include Birmingham, Bessemer, Hueytown, Fairfield, Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Adamsville, Brighton, Lipscomb, Lake View, Brookwood, Sylvan Springs, Mulga, Maytown, West Jefferson, North Johns, Bull City, Abernant, Splash Adventure, and Concord.

This storm is moving to the northeast at 75 MPH. Get to a place of shelter inside a building immediately if you are in the path of this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
