Flash Flood Watch Issued For North Alabama Through Saturday Morning

| February 21, 2019 @ 6:38 pm

NWS Huntsville has canceled the Areal Flood Watch for Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties and replaced it with a Flash Flood Watch effective immediately and goes until 6:00 am Saturday morning.

Due to the moderate to high risk of flash flooding expected across North Alabama on Friday, NWS Huntsville has converted all of their county warning area to a Flash Flood Watch. The potential flash flood setup — particularly for areas north of the Tennessee River — is very concerning.

NWS Birmingham continues the Areal Flood Watch for Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties until 6:00 am Friday morning.
