Cool Weekend Weather

| March 16, 2019 @ 1:34 pm

More clouds than sun across much of Alabama on this Saturday afternoon. It remains rather cool outside as temperatures are having a hard time climbing out of the upper 40s and lower 50s this afternoon due to the clouds. Our winds remain out of the north as well and an occasional gust could make it feel even cooler out there. There are a few showers across the state today, but these are confined to southern portions of the state and along the Gulf Coast.

For tonight, we are still expecting generally cloudy conditions and chilly conditions as temperatures fall into the 30s for most locations. There could be some areas of patchy frost in those notorious colder spots across North and East Alabama by first thing tomorrow morning.

FOR TOMORROW: We are expecting more sun than clouds as we head through our Sunday. The sunshine will allow for temperatures to climb nicely; after starting the day in the 30s look for highs in the lower 60s.

CALM WEEK AHEAD: For the week ahead, an unusually dry and calm weather patten sets up across Alabama and much of the Southeast. We are not seeing much in the way of any significant threat of rain or storms in forecast through at least Friday. The days will feature more sun than clouds with highs mostly in the 60s. Nights will be clear and chilly with lows in the 30s and 40s. Some scattered frost is possible each morning through Wednesday in those colder spots. Temperatures will begin a gradual warming trend for the second half of the week as 70s look to return to portions of Central Alabama.
