Tornado Watch Issued For Much Of The Western Half Of Central Alabama Until 11:00 PM

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for the west and southwestern parts of Central Alabama until 11:00 pm CDT tonight.

Those counties in Central Alabama include Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa.

Includes the cities of Tuscaloosa, Clanton, Selma, and Demopolis. Does not include the Birmingham metropolitan area.

A few tornadoes along with damaging winds up to 70 MPH are likely. Isolated hail up to marble size is possible.

If you are in the watch & live in a mobile/manufactured home, go ahead and head to your safe place/shelter now. Don’t wait for a warning!
