A Quick Check On Showers & Storms In Western Parts Of Central Alabama

| May 10, 2019 @ 3:12 pm

A few showers and thunderstorms have moved over into the western parts of the area and moving north-northeastward mainly over parts of Lamar, Pickens, Fayette, and Tuscaloosa counties. Nothing severe, but some heavy rain and some cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring over the southwestern parts of Tuscaloosa County. Storms will be reaching the city of Tuscaloosa within the next 15-30 minutes.

As of now, they are staying away from the Greystone Country Club in Hoover as the Regions Tradition continues today after a stormy day stopped play on Thursday. There are a few isolated small showers to the south, but those should stay away. We’ll have to watch and see if the southeastern tip of the cluster in Tuscaloosa County might extend to the east and just swipe through the city of Hoover. Crossing our fingers that it stays out of the area.
