The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Northeastern Jefferson County in central Alabama…

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 605 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to training thunderstorms. This will cause urban
and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches
of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Birmingham, Trussville, Hueytown, Gardendale, Fairfield,
Fultondale, Center Point, Pleasant Grove, Clay, Pinson, Tarrant,
Midfield, Adamsville, Argo, Sylvan Springs, Brookside, Mulga,
Maytown, Birmingham Fairgounds and Ketona Lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
