Strong Storms Approaching The Birmingham Metro

| May 16, 2019 @ 5:41 pm

At 5:37 pm, a few strong thunderstorms are moving across the northern parts of Jefferson County and are in the process of moving into the northern parts of the Birmingham Metropolitan Area. Very heavy rain, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds, and some small hail will be possible with this cell.

It’s moving to the southeast at 15 MPH, but an outflow boundary that is moving south of the cell may allow for the storm to expand quicker southward. If you are to the south or southeast of this storm and in its path, get indoors immediately.
