Some Sun & Some Clouds, But Plenty Of Heat Just After Midday

| May 27, 2019 @ 1:43 pm

We have a good bit of sunshine out there at 1:40 pm, but we have some clouds giving us some brief relief from the sun’s heat… even if it is only for a minute or two at a time. Temperatures are in the upper 80s to the mid-90s across the area. Cullman was the cool spot at 88 degrees while Uniontown was the hot spot at 94 degrees. Birmingham was at 90 degrees.

For the rest of this afternoon and through the early evening hours, we’ll continue to have mostly sunny skies with hot temperatures, but the southeastern parts of the area might just get lucky enough to have a few isolated showers and thunderstorms form. Chances are rather small, less than 20%, but better than what we have seen over the past several days. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s across the area. Skies will clear out for tonight and lows will only fall to the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

No rain chances on Tuesday as skies will be mainly sunny and temperatures remain hot. Afternoon highs will once again be in the mid to upper 90s for most across the area. Skies will be clear once again on Tuesday night with lows in the mid-60s to the lower 70s.
