Storms Over Eastern Mississippi May Affect Parts of West Alabama

| June 16, 2019 @ 9:19 pm

We are tracking a large mass of rain and storms over eastern Mississippi tonight that extends from near Philadelphia to west of Meridian to the west of Laurel.

The heaviest storms are between Philadelphia and Meridian. They are moving northeast at 30 mph.

The storms are not severe but do have a good bit of lightning in some of the cells, as well as brief heavy rain.

The storms are expected to weaken, but there is a chance that they may reach parts of Sumter, Pickens and Lamar Counties if they hold together.
