At 649 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms centered over Rogersville, or 18 miles west of Athens.
This region of storms was nearly stationary, but was expanding
southward into northern lawrence County.
Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph will be possible with this cluster of
storms. Very heavy rainfall rates on the order of 2 to 3 inches per
hour are also expected.
Locations impacted include…
Rogersville, Town Creek, Courtland, North Courtland, Hillsboro,
Anderson, Coxey, Oliver, Chalybeate Springs and Ne Smith.
