6.5 Foot Storm Surge at Berwick in Southern Louisiana

The NOAA Tide Gauge at Berwick, across the Atchafalaya River from Morgan City, in southern Louisiana, is now registering a tide of 6.77 feet against the predicted mean higher high water of .51 feet, yielding a storm surge of 6.26 feet.

The center of Tropical Storm Barry is centered near Abbeville in southern Louisiana. Abbeville is reporting an ESE wind at night mph gusting to 27 mph. Lafayette is reporting a gust to 30 mph. New Iberia is gusting to 52 mph right now.
