A few lonely showers extended between Selma and Wedowee across Central Alabama.

Showers and storms are arrayed across Central Mississippi. They are pushing northeast towards Alabama but it is yet to be seen if they can hold together. They are in a band of deeper moisture, with preciptable water values approaching 2 inches. Much drier air is in place across the northern half of Alabama, and this will likely weaken the storms.

That’s bad news given that we do need the rainfall, especially around the southern parts of the Birmingham Metro area. Here is the latest Drought Monitor map of the state.
