Heat Advisory Issued For Parts Of Central Alabama On Saturday

| September 6, 2019 @ 2:25 pm

The National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a HEAT ADVISORY starting Saturday morning at 9:00 am and is set to expire at 9:00 pm Saturday night for these counties in Central Alabama…

Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chilton, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa.

With the combination of higher heat values mixed with the humid air, heat index values will top out in the 104-107 degree range. Impacts from these high temperatures could cause heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.

Unfortunately, we do not have any rain in the forecast for Saturday. It looks like the only way to get any relief from the heat will be to stay inside in an air-conditioned room, or if working outside, take plenty of breaks to cool down and to hydrate.
