NWS Birmingham has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties in Central Alabama until 10:00 am on Saturday morning.

A slow moving storm system will drop additional moderate to heavy rains across west central Alabama into Saturday morning. Several locations have already received 2 to 3 inches of rain. An additional 2 to 3 inches or rain is possible into Saturday. These rain amounts may cause some flooding. Some roads may become flooded and may be impassable. Some creeks and streams may also flood.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
