Areal Flood Warning: Parts Of Colbert & Lauderdale Counties Until 12:00 AM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
South central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Southern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until midnight CST.

* At 956 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain which will cause flooding. Up to three inches of rain
have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Cherokee, St.
Florian, Underwood-Petersville, Malone, Posey Loop, Northwest
Alabama Regional Airport, Mt Hester, Allsboro, Maud, Oakland,
Barton, Red Rock, Mynot, Pride Landing and Margerum.

Additional rainfall amounts of an inch are possible in the warned
area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
