Tornado Watch Has Been Issued For A Few Counties Until 1:00 PM

A Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of North and Central Alabama until 1:00 pm for the following counties:

North Alabama: Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan

Central Alabama: Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, Winston

SUMMARY
Extensive squall line from western Kentucky to northeast Mississippi will progress eastward through midday. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, but a few embedded tornadoes will also be possible.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles east northeast of Owensboro KY to 75 miles south of Muscle Shoals AL.

REMEMBER… A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
