Jefferson County Flood Warning Has Been Reissued; Will Go Until 6:15 a.m.

The flood warning for Jefferson County has been reissued. Heavy rain is moving through the Birmingham Metro right now.

In addition, a new flood warning will be issued for several northwestern Alabama counties where more heavy rain is moving across right now. The ground is saturated and cannot handle any additional rains.

PICKENS COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
SHELBY COUNTY IN CENTRAL ALABAMA…
GREENE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
CENTRAL BIBB COUNTY IN CENTRAL ALABAMA…
JEFFERSON COUNTY IN CENTRAL ALABAMA…
NORTHWESTERN SUMTER COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…

* UNTIL 615 AM CST.

* AT 1218 AM CST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN THAT WILL CAUSE
ONGOING FLOODING. 3-4 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS HAVE
FALLEN OVER THE COURSE OF THE PREVIOUS DAY. ADDITIONAL MODERATE
RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OVERNIGHT WHICH WILL CAUSE FLOODING TO
PERSIST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.

HELENA, HUEYTOWN, GARDENDALE, IRONDALE, LEEDS, MOODY, CALERA,
FAIRFIELD AND CHELSEA.
