Flood Warning For Parts Of Colbert, Lauderdale Counties Until 11:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
East central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Northwestern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 1130 PM CST.

* At 532 PM CST, emergency management reported flooding at the
intersection of 6th Street and County Road 268 in rural eastern
Colbert County near Town Creek.

Flood waters and higher levels along the Tennessee River is causing
flow to back up along Town Creek. Rainfall this evening may help to
exacerbate the flooding along Town Creek in this area tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Excessive runoff from rainfall this evening and higher river levels
along the Tennessee River will cause flooding of Town Creek and
adjacent low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering
flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
